How old must I be to participate in this event?

You must be at least 18 years old to participate in this event. This age requirement ensures that all participants meet the legal and logistical criteria necessary for a smooth and safe event experience.

How much does it cost to register?

The cost to register for the event is $850 for a shared Twin Room Accommodation or $1,100 for Single Room Accommodation. Registration covers insurance, accommodation, support crew plus your essential #RFSKWA2024 merch: your training jersey, crew top, event jersey, bib and socks.

How much money do I need to fundraise to participate in the event?

To participate in the event, we ask you to fundraise a minimum amount of $3,000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities Western Australia.

What does the 5-day experience look like?

Over 5 days, you’ll travel to the town of Margaret River to embark on a 4-day ride more than 500km (roughly 120 km each day) traversing some of Western Australia’s most beautiful landscapes.

Day 1 will see the group depart from Perth travelling to Margaret River. Here you will have time to rest and prepare for the 4 days of riding ahead.

Days 2, 3, 4 and 5 will start with breakfast, some light stretching before riding around 120km with multiple stops for rest, snacks, and lunch. Finish each day with a recap of the day’s ride, a team dinner and some well-deserved laughs.

How do I train for this event?

Training for a 500km, 4-day charity bike ride is a significant physical challenge that requires careful preparation. We recommend creating a training plan that works best for you, include a mix of long rides, interval training, strength training, and recovery days. Focus on gradually increasing your weekly mileage and duration and practice your hydration and nutrition strategy during training. We love participants sharing training tips not only is it a great way to build friendships with fellow riders it can help in developing some impressive cycling skills. We'll have more training tips and information about training rides on your rider dashboard.

Is there support during Ride week?

Absolutely! Each day you will be supported by the amazing Support Crew which will include St John ambulance, bike mechanics, and RMHC WA staff who will provide optimism, cheerfulness, and a smile each morning.

Are donations tax deductible?

All donations over $2 are tax deductible and a tax receipt will be emailed to your donors once received.
