Since first participating in Ride for Sick Kids WA (RFSK WA) in 2020, Andrew Cairns, Executive General Manager - Crown Perth Hotels, has embraced the event not only as a personal challenge, but as a meaningful way to give back to WA families going through the toughest times of their lives.
Andrew’s involvement with RFSK WA began through Crown Perth’s sponsorship of the annual fundraising event. Inspired by Crown’s ongoing dedication to supporting WA families with sick kids, he decided to take part in the ride to contribute to the cause firsthand.
This year will mark his 5th RFSK WA, and his dedication to the cause has only grown stronger with each event.
Now a seasoned participant, Andrew is not only motivated by the physical challenge of cycling 500km across regional WA but also by the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of WA families with sick kids.
I feel incredibly privileged to have been well supported through generous donations, both personally and through Crown Perth. These donations make a direct impact by supporting those families who rely on Ronald McDonald House Charities WA (RMHC WA), says Andrew

The camaraderie and friendships built among fellow riders is another aspect of RFSK WA that keeps him coming back year after year.
As a group of riders, we support each other along the way. The last kilometres are ones of excitement and relief, knowing we will arrive back to RMHC WA having achieved a great deal.
For those considering taking on the 500km Ride, Andrew says:
I cannot recommend signing up for RFSK WA enough. It’s a great experience and there’s a level of satisfaction knowing we’re supporting families in need.
Andrew looks forward to riding again in 2025 and creating lasting memories, all the while making a difference to WA families who need it most.
