RMHC WA Ride for Sick Kids 2024

Since 2015 I’ve had the honour of volunteering countless hours to Ronald McDonald House,

often sitting in silence, listening to parents share how life has flipped completely upside down, or playing Lego for hours on end with the “temporarily forgotten“ sibling. 


I've seen quality of life stripped away in exchange for a few more months, and witnessed the heartbreak of an ever-diminishing chance of a cure. I know how it feels to be away from home when your world is falling apart. 


In 2018, I completed my first Ride for Sick Kids. What an incredible feeling.


I’ve joined the Ride for Sick Kids 2024, simply because it's deeply personal to me. I’m passionate about making a difference for these children and their families. 


Every contribution has the power to create positive change. You can donate as much or as little as you like, no amount is too small. When we support each other, incredible things happen! It truly would mean the world to me.

A Lonely Road

Illness, like an uninvited guest, intrudes into the lives of countless sick kids, often bringing an unexpected companion – loneliness. At Ronald McDonald house this journey of loneliness is being transformed into a path of self-discovery and connection, it’s Home Away From Home during the most difficult time of their lives.  Will you support me? Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen. Courage is knowing it might hurt, and doing it anyway. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I'll try again tomorrow.
