Aria's Story
When Aria was only one-year-old she was diagnosed with cancer. She had a rare type of childhood cancer in her kidneys called a Wilms tumour.
Aria and her family raced from their home in Busselton to Perth Children’s Hospital so that Aria could receive chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
While Aria underwent chemotherapy we gave her and her mum a place to stay at Ronald McDonald House Charities Western Australia. But just as importantly, we also provided accommodation for her sisters. We did so because we knew that having her sisters by her side helps Aria get through her chemotherapy; that having her sisters there to support her makes all the difference.
Aria and her family stayed with us for 253 days while she was receiving treatment.
